EZ Junk & Hauling LLC

EZ Junk Hauling Loaded Truck

Most junk removal crews will take almost anything you point at. But there are a handful of items we legally cannot touch, and a few we will turn down for practical reasons. Knowing the difference before we roll up saves you time and a second phone call.

What We Cannot Legally Haul

Federal and Oregon state rules keep certain items off our truck. These are the big ones.

Liquid Paint and Paint Thinner

Liquid latex or oil paint has to go to a Household Hazardous Waste facility. In Marion County, that is the transfer station on Brown Road on specific days. Dry the paint out with kitty litter or sawdust and let it harden, then we can take it as solid waste.

Motor Oil, Antifreeze, and Automotive Fluids

Auto parts stores like O’Reilly and AutoZone take used oil and antifreeze free. Most accept up to five gallons per visit.

Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint, and Biohazards

Anything containing asbestos (often found in old insulation, floor tile, popcorn ceilings) requires licensed abatement. Same with anything contaminated by blood, bodily fluids, or medical waste. We will point you to certified specialists.

Ammunition, Explosives, and Flares

Contact the Salem Police Department non-emergency line. They take live ammo and old flares for proper disposal.

Propane Tanks (Full or Partially Full)

Empty tanks are fine. Full ones are pressurized hazards. Exchange them at any Blue Rhino dealer or hardware store with a tank program.

What We Will Not Take for Practical Reasons

Very Heavy Concrete or Dirt Loads

Small amounts are fine. A full truckload of concrete can exceed legal axle weight and costs a fortune in dump fees. For big loads of concrete, brick, or clean fill, a dumpster rental is usually cheaper. We can still help with smaller amounts mixed in with other debris.

Live Animals or Animal Waste

Unfortunately this comes up with hoarding situations. The Willamette Humane Society handles animal rescue. For cleanup after, we can step in once the animals are safely relocated.

Large Tree Trunks or Whole Stumps

We handle yard waste, branches, and medium logs. A full tree trunk or stump needs an arborist with a grinder or chainsaw. Once it is cut into manageable pieces, we can haul it.

Stuff We Will Take That You Might Assume We Cannot

  • Refrigerators and freezers (even with refrigerant, we handle proper recovery)
  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Tires (up to 8 per load)
  • TVs, computers, and electronics
  • Empty aerosol cans
  • Small amounts of building debris
  • Hot tubs (we break them down on site, see our hot tub removal service)
  • Pianos and pool tables (heavy items are no problem)

When in Doubt, Call
